Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, EWB-USA has suspended all international volunteer travel until further notice. This prevented EWB-RMP from traveling this spring to implement new water storage tanks and chlorinators in the community of Xexuxcap. Despite this setback, our NGO partner (ACCMARI), led by president Diego Ramirez, has taken the initiative to start construction of one of the storage tanks. Diego and his crew are skilled craftsmen who we have an incredible amount of confidence in to get the job done even if we cannot be there to support them in-person right now. We look forward to continuing to monitor project progress from afar and will provide additional updates as they are shared with us by ACCMARI and the Xexuxcap Water Committee.
